PG-13 | 2 hours 13 minutes | Crime, Drama | September 7, 2018
Based on a book of the same name by Angie Thomas, Starr Carter is constantly switching between two worlds: the poor, mostly black, neighborhood where she lives and the rich, mostly white, prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right.
Sabrina plays the role of Hailey Grant, one of Starr’s closest friends. Unforunately, throughout the film, Hailey shows her true colors and causes their frienship to end. Filming took place in Atlanta, Georgia from September 12 – November 4, 2017.
