ROAD TO FAME

Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter was born on May 11, 1999 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. She is an actress, singer and song-writer. Carpenter is most recognized for her role as Maya Hart in Disney Channel’s series, “Girl Meets World”, which she was a part of from 2014 to 2017. She gained her initial recognition from posting covers on YouTube and being a contestant in Miley Cyrus’ MileyWorld.com Superstar contest.

Sabrina music debut came in 2010 with her song, “Catch My Breath”, which was posted exclusively to YouTube. Her acting debut followed shortly after in 2011 with a small role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. EARLY LIFE

Sabrina grew up in East Greenville, Pennsylvania with her two parents and older sisters (Cayla, Shannon and Sarah). Growing up, Sabrina and her sisters were home schooled. Around the age of 10, Sabrina started posting videos on YouTube covering songs by Adele, Christina Aguilera and other artists. Her father even built her a recording studio so she could follow her passion of singing. From 2008 – 2009, Sabrina was a contestant in Miley Cyrus’ MileyWorld.com Are You A Superstar? singing contest. She finished in 3rd place and got to meet Miley as part of the top 4.

CAREER

EARLY ROLES

In 2011, Sabrina continued regularly posting YouTube covers and collaborating with other singers. In the same year, she landed her first acting role as Paula on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The following year, Sabrina landed a guest spot on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. In 2013, she booked her first major and recurring role as young Chloe Goodwin in The Goodwin Games. Sabrina got her first movie role in 2013/2014’s Horns, as young Merrin.

DISNEY DAYS

In 2012, Sabrina became part of the Disney Channel/Hollywood Records family where she started releasing songs and guest starring in shows. Carpenter had various projects and opportunities while on Disney Channel. Her first song released under a major record label was “Smile” which was released in 2012 on the Disney Fairies: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust compilation album. She also sang a song called “Stand Out” for the Disney Channel Original Movie, How to Build a Better Boy.

Sabrina first role on a Disney Channel was as Lucy Gluckman on Austin & Ally in 2013. This was before landing her most-known for and lead role as Maya Hart in Girl Meets World. Carpenter played best friend, Maya Hart from 2014 – 2017. In 2016, Sabrina starred along side Sofia Carson in Disney Channel’s 100th original movie (DCOM), Adventures in Babysitting. The movie was a remake of the original Adventures in Babysitting from 1987. She and Sofia appear on the soundtrack with their collaboration. “Wildside”. From 2016 – 2019, Sabrina had a main, voice over role in Disney Channel’s animated series, Milo Murphy’s Law. She also had a lot of guest starring roles in other Disney Channel shows including, Walk the Prank, Soy Luna, and Wander Over Yonder. Carpenter even worked on some Disney Junior shows, Sofia the First and Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

In 2014, Sabrina released her single and first EP, Can’t Blame a Girl For Trying. The song and EP would later be extended into Carpenter’s debut album, Eyes Wide Open. From 2014 – 2015, Sabrina did a lot of events and shows performing her songs from the album. In 2016, Sabrina released her second album, Evolution which she also went on a tour of the same name to promote. This tour ran from late 2016 to early 2017 throughout North America and Europe.

AFTER DISNEY

From 2017 – 2019, after her Disney Channel days, Sabrina really focused on her music. She collaborated and toured with many artists including, The Vamps, Ariana Grande, Lost Kings and Jonas Blue. Carpenter released her third and fourth albums, Singular: Act I and Singular: Act II in 2018 and 2019, just months apart. Sabrina embarked on her 4th tour, The Singular tour where she performed songs from both Act I and II.

In her acting career after Disney, Sabrina focused on more age-appropriate roles in movies. This includes, The Hate U Give, Tall Girl 1 and 2, The Short History of the Long Road, Work It, Clouds and Emergency. Carpenter has only made guest appearances in TV shows in recent years – including, Project Runway, Punk’d, Styling Hollywood, and Royalties.

THEATER

Sabrina joined Pasadena Playhouse with Girl Meets World co-stars, Corey Fogelmanis and August Maturo in Peter Pan and Tinker Bell: A Pirate’s Christmas. The play ran through the holiday season, starting on December 9, 2015 and ending on January 3, 2016. In March 2020, Sabrina made her Broadway debut in Mean Girls as Cady Heron. Her run was scheduled to be 14 weeks long, but unfortunately, do to the COVID-19 pandemic, her run in the musical was canceled after just 2 shows.

POPSTAR STATUS / CURRENT YEARS

In 2022, Sabrina released her biggest album yet, Emails I Can’t Send and the deluxe version, Emails I Can’t Send Fwd: in 2023. This album arguably gave her popstar/superstar and status. Her single, “Nonsense” became a worldwide hit and has received many renditions – including a sped up version and a Christmas version called “A Nonsense Christmas”. Since the albums, release she has gone on her Emails I Can’t Send world tour and even opened for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour in 2023 and 2024.

OTHER VENTURES

ADVERTISEMENT CAMPAIGNS / PARTNERSHIPS

Through the years, Sabrina has been a face for many brands. These brands include, AritziaCoach, Marc Jacobs, Samsung and more!

Sabrina did an Aritzia Campaign with co-star, Rowan Blanchard in 2014. Carpenter filmed a commercial promoting Yoplait’s “Go Big” yogurt in 2017. Coach and Marc Jacobs partnered with Sabrina for the 2017 New York Fashion week. From 2017 to 2018, Sabrina released a couple of clothing lines with Aéropostale. From 2017 – 2019, she was one of the many celebrity faces for Converse.

Since 2022, Sabrina has been partnering with Samsung. The company has sponsored a lot of her events and concerts while she has made many advertisement campaigns for many of their smartphones.

Sabrina launched a perfume line with Scent Beauty in 2022 called “Sweet Tooth”. In 2023, she released the “sexy, older sister” perfume, “Caramel Dream”.
