Espresso is a single (song not on an album) by Sabrina Carpenter. It was released on April 11, 2024 along with a music video and merchandise collection the following day. On April 4, 2024, Sabrina teased the (then unnamed) song with a pre-save on both twitter and instagram. The pre-save page just said “Brewing…”. Four days later on April 8, 2024, Sabrina announced the name and release date of the song.
In an article for Vogue, Sabrina said:
The song is kind of about seeing femininity as your super power, and embracing the confidence of being that bitch. Since the day I heard the song, I saw a beach atmosphere—and more specifically this kind of old school [and] modern environment. [I wanted to capture] the playfulness that I like to use throughout all of my videos. I also just wanted a pool car, to be frank.
