Sabrina Carpenter has been releasing music for a decade now, but 2024 turned out to be her breakout year. Her album Short N’ Sweet brought her to the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time, and it produced her biggest smashes, including tunes like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please”, among others.

As she continues to bask in the success of her latest full-length and the singles propelled from the set, one of Carpenter’s earlier collections is on the rise. Sales of the short project—but not Short N’ Sweet—exploded recently, showing that there’s a strong interest in all things related to the singer and actress.

Carpenter’s Fruitcake EP is back on the Billboard charts this week, a year after it was first released. The holiday set was recently released on physical formats, and fans of the singer—both old and new—clearly rushed to pick up a copy. All those purchases have made the studio effort a bigger hit than ever before.

Fruitcake sold a little more than 39,200 copies throughout America in the past tracking period. That sum is up from the week before, when it managed fewer than 200 sales, according to Luminate.

From one week to the next, Fruitcake’s sales figure grew by more than 27,000%—a leap rarely seen on any Billboard chart. The re-release, as well as Carpenter’s Netflix holiday special, are largely to thank for that massive uptick, though general discovery of the now-superstar’s older material also likely played at least a small role.

Fruitcake reappears on the Billboard 200 for just the third week ever this frame, and it’s become a huge hit for Carpenter. The EP returns at No. 10 on the list of the most-consumed projects in the country, doubling her total number of wins in that arena as it arrives.

The same EP performs even better on several of Billboard’s purchase-centric tallies. Fruitcake is new to both the Vinyl Albums (No. 2) and Top Album Sales (No. 4) charts as well, adding to Carpenter’s growing list of smashes.
