Sabrina Carpenter Explains *That* Blonde Lyric Reference In “Skin”

The love triangle that keeps on giving—that’s what I’m going to begin calling the continuous Sabrina Carpenter/Olivia Rodrigo/Joshua Bassett drama. There’s a new development because Sabrina recently addressed *that* lyric in “Skin.” Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. Olivia released her hit “Driver’s License” and Sabrina later released “Skin.” They both have a lyric that not-so-subtly references each other.

Olivia sings, “And you’re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt.”

Sabrina sings, “And you’re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She’s so much older than me”

Hmm… it doesn’t take a detective to realize that Olivia is singing about Sabrina and Sabrina is responding by calling out Olivia’s lyric. “I guess people care, and I was like curious as to why people cared,” Sabrina said on the Zach Sang Show. Let me point out that of course people care and Sabrina probably cares too since she put the blonde lyric in the song, but I digress.
